Studio Brief 01 - Stories Coffee Shop

My COP research project this year is based on coffee shops in Leeds, so I took the time to go and visit a new coffee shop that opened in Leeds earlier this year. The main reason for going was to check out the use if design within the cafe and see how Passport (Leeds based design studio) have created the brand and put it together in a new space.

The branding and the style of the cafe works well, although it may seem very obvious to design a Nordic style cafe with white minimal walls and unpainted wood it works very well they have created a warm yet spacious environment. It fits in very well with the current trendy/stylish design cafes that have been popping up over the last 6/7 years.

Passport have created a beautiful design for the brand, which really helps to attract new customers. There is also a lot to the brand, everything that they have created for Stories has a good concept and reasoning behind why they have used or done a certain thing and the main reason for this is that everything has a story and they wanted to share that as much as possible.

I really enjoyed the cafe, it is a great space its just a same it a bit far out to visit regularly, so it defiantly attracts a different audience but I think this is a good thing getting more people into coffee and in appreciating good design.
