Designing for disability -

Screen readers are programmes that read out the contents of a computer screen to a user. They are most commonly used by people with visual impairment.

In the same way that many countries have legislations that require public buildings to be accessible to those with disabilities, many laws have been passed that require websites be accessible to those with disabilities.

WYSIWYG - What you see is what you get

When design with HTML and CSS wysiwyg is very true as it is so basic, when you create something using code it puts the content in it simplest form. I decided to use the website Codecademy to look into the basics of HTML and CSS further and it helped me to understand this theory.

Codecademy -

Codecademy is an online recourse that anyone can use to teach themselves the basics and even more of coding. As a design student thinking about what I might want to do after I finish this course and where the design industry is going with the whole digital design era growing and growing it seems like a good idea to learn the basics of the most common languages of coding HTML and CSS as this will help me to have a better understanding of how to build websites so that it does not become problematic when working with web developers and coders in the future.

I have started by just undertaking the basic courses of the HMTL and CSS and I feel it will improve my understanding of digital design. Hopefully if I do enjoy the coding I may go on to teach myself more and try and understand it, not so that i can become a coder but so that I can put on my CV when looking for jobs that I understand and this may help me to standout among may other design graduates looking for the same job.
