Studio Brief 03 - Presentation - Individual Research

Gallery and Museum Advertising -

In our group we decided too gather research both as a group and individually, individually I was researching about how museums and art gallery around the world use design to get too there audience. Obviously they use range of techniques from a traditional posters to more modern techniques like social media, all of which are effective in there own ways.

Most advertising campaigns for exhibitions are very similar to what you see when a film is released. The exhibition will have an overall brand guideline which will consist of a logo, or identity that people will be able to recognise along with a typeface and colours that run through out the campaign. Like films more and more exhibitions are getting online trailers for people too watch, to get them more interested in coming. These could be anywhere from 20 seconds or more. Online as well with social media you see a lot of animated GIFs or pictures that can get peoples reactions (comments and retweets etc...) Its all about how you present yourself to the public, if it is eye catching and different peoples will have a look and becoming more involved.

Some examples of how exhibitions advertise are below...
