Studio Brief 01 - Social Media

I touched on this subject within my presentation, but I wanted to look at how I could use social media to my advantage as I don't feel that I have been using it in the way that I should. Last year I identified how I should be using social media and how it would help me as I went into this year, however I was unsure of some of the work I wanted to post so I have been hesitant to use social media for showcasing my work. I have just been using it as a means of networking which works well and in enables you to talk to many different people, but I could be using this platform in better ways.

First of all Behance, this is the one of the best platform for sharing projects and networking with other creatives from all over the world, I have seen through other people the benefits of Behance and asked myself why don't use it because it could help improve my practice massively just by posting my projects. It will is also a great way of finding inspiration or research for work, this is how I currently use it but I want to make the out of the free platform.

Instagram is also another great platform for creatives, many people use create more than on profile for Instagram so they can post pictures of projects separate from their personal accounts. I can see the benefit of this but I already have a following on my personal account so I would must rather use this platform and advertise that I am a designer like this as I feel that it will also show other people that I am networking with who I am and what I am about rather than just seeing images of my work as it is not all about your capability. Using the summer break I am going to collate my projects from the last 10 months so that I have a good body of work to show people when I start back in Level 06 as I think it is very important that I am making connections from the very start of the year so that by the end of Level 06 I am not stuck and won't know what to do.
