Nicer Tuesdays
Every month they invite four speakers to give and audience insights and inspirations around a particular theme, from collaboration to mistake-making, erotica to hobbies and pastimes. Its always interesting to watch with many different types of people involved every month, its also brilliant learning about the creative thats surround us and you become quick to learn that a lot of people aren't too different from yourself or have been in similar situations for example now 'art school' which was part of the theme for September 2015. Some very interesting talks about what art school is now specially from Zelda Malan from Kingston School of Art, as she went through ow to be successful from art school and make the most of the specialist environment. I had to double check myself and make sure that I was doing most of the arts she covered, lucky enough for me I was; so its all good.
An also very relevant talk was done at the perfect time for the Secret 7" live brief, Kevin King, founder of Secret 7”, describes every step it took to turn the charitable vinyl project into the immensely popular convergence of art and music that it is now. Maybe not helpful with producing the work, but it was really interesting learning about the process of the competition and hoe big it has become, as it is very different to a lot of other design competitions. It was also very interning seeing what famous artists had taken part on the past and how the approached the brief, because at the time I was struggling with the brief and it gave me some more ideas.
