Studio Brief 03 - Life's a Pitch - Development

Once we came up with the idea for the collective myself and Rob thought that the next stage of the collective would be to start developing a brand so that after the presentation we would be be able to get people interested and get our first ideas produced but we didn't think we could do this without an identify or social media presence.

Since we created the idea, we have been trying to improve the concept to make it the best it could possibly be, getting positive feedback from people showed us that the idea had the potential that it needed to work. We already had a name in mind for the collective which we are set on using, so to accompany the name we created a logo which will hopefully let people understand who we are and our style of working from the relaxed name and logo type.

To get an idea of how to get the collective going myself and Rob approach Marcroy Smith from People of Print for some advice and feedback on the idea. It was a brief chat but he could see how the idea could work very well for the target audience and he suggested that we use social media to help source the content for the first issue, and the first issue that we would put out should try and show to people what are about and what we are capable of. It was very useful to talk someone with lots of publishing experience and I would be to think we could get some further feedback when the issue is ready for release.

Now that we have a solid brand and social media we can start to build our ideas and bring them to life. Going forward from the presentation myself and Rob should start making connections with the right people so that the first issue of Blep can come to life.
